BEAUBIEN, Suzanne
1932 - 2022

Suzanne Beaubien, our mom, « Grand-maman », and aunt passed away on Monday, September 5th, 2022, at Mont-laurier Hospital. She was predeceased by her son Stephan; her husbands, Ivan and Thomas; and her sister Luce. She will be dearly missed by her daughter Zsoka (Martin); son Sipit (Patricia); grandchildren Alexandre, Nicolas, Michèle and Samphe; nephews Andrew (Patricia) and Jean-Luc; grandnephews Hadrien and Benjamin; the Van De Walle family; and an extensive network of friends.
Suzanne lived for her beautiful family and friends, and her heart had a place for everyone. She had an unparalleled ability to make everyone feel special and heard and was an excellent confidant. She and her sister, Luce, were soul mates. Though separated by an ocean, they remained close through countless letters, shared vacations, and a love for the finer things, especially champagne, REAL “foie gras”, and Edith Piaf.
She chose to see the upside in every challenge life handed to her. Always quick to put herself in others’ shoes, Suzanne approached every situation with compassion. This was demonstrated in her work ethic. As President of the Residences St-Laurent, she made her employees feel as valued as the residents themselves and earned the respect of everyone she worked with.
Suzanne had and impeccable sense of style, informed by cashmere sweaters and Louis Vuitton. Since childhood, she spent almost every summer at her family chalet on Petit Lac Nominingue, where she proved herself a natural loon caller.
An ideal day for Suzanne involved a morning fire, catching up with friends, and bridge in the afternoon, which she played at a competitive level until the age of almost ninety. She was and avid reader, cinephile, with, more broadly, a lifelong interest in the arts. In her later years, her vocal enthusiasm for tennis was infectious.
Suzanne left us on her own terms, surrounded by her loved ones. She was well cared for by the palliative team at Mont-Laurier Hospital. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Mont-Laurier staff for their compassion and support.
“Love you more”
The Cooperative funeral Brunet of Mont-Laurier, to whom the direction of the funeral has been entrusted, offers the bereaved family its most sincere condolences.
