At the CISSS des Laurentides – CHSLD de Sainte-Adèle, on July 29, 2026, Muriel (Walker) Penny, daughter of the late George F. Walker and the late Noëlla Gauthier, passed away peacefully at the age of 94.
Muriel was predeceased by her beloved husband of many years, William R. Penny, and by her cherished granddaughter, Stephanie Ann Keirstead.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Karen (Peter), Nancy (Raymond), Stephen (Lori), and Donna (Kent); her grandchildren, Bryan, Scott (Danielle), Michael, Kristy (Aaron), Courtney, and Brett; and her great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Madison, Hudson, Kellin, and Olive. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
In keeping with Muriel's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A celebration of her life will be held in early autumn in the Laurentians, a place she proudly called home for many years. Details will be announced at a later date.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate and dedicated staff of Maison Pascal (Tremblant) and CHSLD Sainte-Adèle for the exceptional care, kindness, and support they provided to our mother throughout the past two years. Their attentiveness and compassion brought great comfort to both Muriel and our family, and for that we are deeply grateful.
